Episode 10 – Everything like clockwork*

9:15am

It’s a typical Friday morning on Simms Street in City Circlez. Some are headed to work, others tending to errands and others are trying to keep fit.

Friday morningZola is having her hair done at Va Va Voom salon. Owned by Aurela Razzi a recent actress who bought the salon over 5 years ago and transformed it into all services beauty palour in the middle of the city. Zola is not only very satisfied the services, but also makes full advantage of the fact that is it right across from her apartment building.

9:20am

Clockwork-1

Aurela:”So what do you think of the new updo?”

 

Clockwork-2

Zola:”It’s perfect. This is what I want done for the cocktail party next week. Thanks Aurela.”

 

Zola pays Aurela and then leaves the salon.

Zola thinking:”Lovely sunny day. Perfect for the beach.”

Zola thinking:”Ah let me get some cash.”

Zola thinking:Wait did he just speed up?

Zola counts to ten and tries to shake off the rude behavior of the teenager as she crosses the street to head to the diner for breakfast…

Zola thinking: Good the place isn’t too busy.

 

Inside Zola greets her older sister Dominique. Dominique Welton is a well known executive chef in City Circlez. She presently owns the diner and couple other fine dining restaurants on Circlez island.

Dominique:”Hi Zola. Come, come and cool down after your run in with our youth.”

Zola:”You saw didn’t you? What is our town coming to? Geeez…”

Dominique:”That’s a question many want the answer to. Anyway when last have you spoken to Thalia?” Zola:”Maybe last month.”

 

Clockwork-15

Dominique:”Well I spoke to her last night and she’s arriving here tonight. I need you to pick her up.”

 

Clockwork-16

Zola:”Whoa I have a book club meeting tonight. Why can’t you pick her up?”

 

Clockwork-17

Dominique:”I have twenty dignitaries coming to Sache tonight and I am short staffed. She’s your little sister, and you two get along.”

 

Clockwork-18

Zola:”She’s your little sister too and you two don’t get along because you hardly put aside time for us your family. Before last night, when last you spoke to her?”

 

Clockwork-19

Dominique:”Maybe six months ago. Anyway that’s beside the point. Just pick her up, the flight gets in 9:55 pm.”

 

Clockwork-20

Dominique:”Sache is the last of my chain. I need to see this through. She is my baby just like the agency is yours. You can’t hold this against me.”

 

Clockwork-21

Abi (waitress):” Excuse me Ms. Welton, would you like your usual or would you like to see the menu? Zola:”Abi I’ll have my usual please. Thanks.”

Abi (waitress): Hot chocolate or coffee with that? Zola:”Coffee black.”

 

Clockwork-23

Zola:”I’ll pick up Thalia, but you have to promise to come by for Sunday dinner. No excuses.”

Dominique:”Thank you, and I’ll be there Sunday.” Zola:”Dominique I understand the pressure you are under, but sometimes you have to put aside time for us your siblings. Mom and Dad are gone.’

Dominique:”By the way can you explain why the check for Kieron’s college tuition was returned to me un-cashed?”

Zola:”It’s been a while I have been trying to find a way to tell you this…”

Dominique:”Come on Zola spit it out!” Zola:”…but out brother has quit college and joined a band.”
